EGA Young Reporters Visit BBC Broadcasting House

On Thursday, seven EGA  BBC Young Reporters were invited to spend the afternoon at Broadcasting House as part of the national Young Reporters Day. Students were chosen based on their interest in writing and the media and certainly had an incredible opportunity to get behind the scenes at  BBC headquarters. Their first task was to interview journalists from the BBC Asian Network and then a tour of the studio from where the service is broadcast. Students were then given a tour of Radio 1 where they saw the DJs broadcasting live to the nation. A highlight was visiting BBC Weather, where meteorologist Nick Miller gave our students the chance to present the weather using a green screen and the day's latest forecast. It was an inspiring opportunity for our Young Reporters, giving them an insight into the many careers open to them in the media. Thank you to everyone at the BBC who made the day possible!
