"Gifted" refers to students who are particularly able or excel in one or more academic subjects such as Maths, English, Science or Languages "Talented" pupils are those that have special ability, or potential in Art, Music, Drama, Physical Education and Dance etc.
At EGA we offer a rich, broad balanced curriculum with a wealth of enrichment activities so that our students have opportunities to discover and develop their abilities and talents In order to identify Able Gifted and Talented students we use a variety of data, both quantitative and qualititative. We also draw upon the expertise of the staff at EGA to nominate students to be place on the Gifted and Talented register.
If your child is identified as Gifted and Talented, we will:
let you know that she is considered to be Gifted and Talented
ensure that she is receiving a challenging learning experience in lessons
consider taking some eGCSE examinations early in order to facilitate advanced study
monitor her progress to ensure that she is being stretched and meeting her potential
find opportunities for her to engage in additional activities which will help her develop her particular talents
Examples of extra activities include:
Debate Club - as well as entering competitions in 2008, the group visited Kerala to train Indian students
Sports Clubs - competitive matches with other schools. Las year, the netball team took part in an exchange visit to La Reunion.
