Published: 08/09/2011
As always, the last Thursday in August saw scenes of celebration as EGA girls received their examination results. The student with the most to celebrate was Gar Yuan Li with a total of 17 GCSE passes, six of which were at A or A*. Zara Ahmed also gained 16 high level GCSE passes, with nine at A or A*. Fatemeh Alemi passed in twelve subjects, and achieved eleven A and A* grades, which shows a real commitment to excellence.
The Maths Faculty were particularly delighted with the results achieved by Kawther Almoathin and Dilan Ulusoy who overcame many obstacles to gain high grades. In addition, Ghadeer Alzahrani (A*), Khadija Anam (A), Saadia Sharmin (A), Victoria Macher (B) and Mariam Farah (B) all made huge progress in year 11 and benefited from the rewards of their extremely hard work.
Year 10 students also achieved some amazing results. Seventeen year 10 girls passed English literature GCSE at A*, while another 13 gained A grades. Sonia Chadni achieved 4 A* and two A grade passes in English, English literature, media studies, citizenship, religious studies and Bengali. Nadine Lopez in 8L passed her Portugese GCSE at A grade, showing that there is no age limit on the success of our pupils.
We would like to congratulate all of our students on their success, and to express our thanks to all of the families who worked in partnership with us to ensure that every individual student, regardless of ability and background, left EGA with worthwhile qualifications to take with them to the next stage of their life.
