EGA School has been chosen to take part in an exciting walking competition called ‘Beat the Street’! We’re encouraging ALL key stage 3 students to get involved and ‘walk to win’. To make the competition even more exciting EGA will be in competition with Holloway school and 2 schools from New York. Pupils are only being asked to walk part of the way, to and from school, along routes that have been specially designed around EGA School.
Route maps will be provided. Every child that registers will receive a small ‘Beat the Street’ card which they touch at ‘Beat the Street’ touch points located on the their chosen street route. Once they have registered they will also be able to log onto the Beat the Street website where they can check their progress and see how everyone is doing in the competition, in London and New York. Your daughter will receive a letter in the next few days about the competition.
Please ensure that you sign this and that your daughter drops it off in the ‘Beat the Street’ box in reception. Lastly, please encourage your daughter to take part as it’s a great way to encourage them to walk to school and stay fit and healthy!
