Strategies for Effective Independent Study
We understand the importance of effective independent study at EGA. As well as making the most of your time at school, we know that revising and working at home is a large determining factor in your academic success. The better you use this time, the better your outcomes will be.
Over the last year, we have shared strategies that decades of cognitive research (and our own experience) show make the biggest difference to students' learning and memory. The most important 3 are retrieval practice, spaced practice and interleaving. Please refer to the following guides to develop your understanding of them and commit to using them consistently.
