New Year 7 Transition Events 2021
Below Are updates for our EGA Transition Events.
Taster Day: This year Taster Days will be on Thursday 1st July 2021. This will be an exciting opportunity to see what EGA school is like as a student. You will get to meet lots of staff and students that will be part of your EGA journey. More information on how the day will run will be updated shortly.
Year 7 Family Welcome: This will be a virtual meeting on the evening of Thursday 1st July 2021 where we will share key messages and information on how you can best support your daughter/ward in starting secondary school. We know that transitions can be difficult so we want to give you all of the tools to help make September a successful start. There will also be the chance to ask questions as well.
Summer School: We are excited to be running our Summer School on the week beginning Monday 23rd August 2021. This will be a chance to meet their peers and learn more about our school, ready for September. Admissions Interviews: Admissions interviews are an opportunity to meet with staff and is an important part of joining our school. You will be emailed admissions forms in advance of your interview which will take place on one of the following days: Tuesday 22nd or Wednesday 23rd June 2021. Further guidance will be shared, including a tutorial video to support you.

The Year 7 Transition Team
If you wish to apply to EGA, it has to be done online via www.islington.gov.uk. Their telephone number is 020 7527 5515. This will get you directly through to admissions.
Places are offered based on statutory admissions criteria as follows:
Children on the waiting list will be ranked in the following order, in line with our published admission criteria: (applies to community schools only)
1. Looked after children and children who have been adopted (or made subject to residence orders or special guardianship orders) immediately after being looked after
3. Exceptional medical, social or special educational needs
Distance will be used as a tiebreaker for over-subscription criteria 1- 3.
The last pupil admitted under the distance criterion lived 1.024 miles from the school (academic year 2019-20).
