Announcement

The week of World Book Day 02/03/26 - 06/03/26

World Book Day Announcement:

This year, World Book Day is extra special as 2026 is the National Year of Reading, with a big focus on reading for pleasure.

We want students to think about what they already enjoy doing for fun, whether that’s gaming, sport, music, art or watching films and discover how reading can connect to those interests. There really is a book for everyone and World Book Day is the perfect time to dive in and Go All In on reading!

What’s happening at EGA for World Book Day?

The week of World Book Day - 02/03/26 – 06/03/26

World Book Day Assemblies
We’ll be celebrating books and reading for pleasure in assemblies throughout the week.

Book Swap – Over 400 Books Available!
Thanks to the generosity of the Children's Book Project, we have over 400 donated books available for students to take home.
• Students, parents and staff are welcome to bring in age-appropriate books to donate.
• You do not need to bring a book to take one home, everyone is encouraged to choose something they’ll enjoy.

World Book Day – 05/03/26

Dress Your Door
On World Book Day, tutor groups will decorate their classroom doors inspired by:
• A book character
• A book or series
• A genre

Three tutor groups will win treats, so they are encouraged to get creative!

Library Activities
• Scavenger Hunt at lunchtime
• Book Quiz after school

We’re excited to see our school community celebrate stories, imagination and the joy of reading. Whether you’re a lifelong reader or just starting to find books you love, this week is for you.

It’s time for EGA to Go All In. Let’s read for fun and make it count!
